A Podiatrist is a registered health professional who specialises in the care and treatment of lower limbs and feet.
Podiatrists treat problems with the feet. This includes infections, wounds, warts, corns, calluses, and skin conditions as well as structural issues with foot and leg posture. Podiatrists also work with patients to facilitate certain activities, such as hiking and walking, and provide long-term foot care. At Merivale Podiatry, our Podiatrists also provide health education to teach you to care for your feet.
No, you do not need a referral to see a Podiatrist at Merivale Podiatry. You can book with us directly.
Yes. We are Southern Cross Health Insurance affiliated and can easily process your claim onsite. For other private health insurers, we can provide you with a full receipt for your claim. We are also ACC accredited and will process claims for you, including the creation and fitting of orthotics.
To start with, we’ll listen to your unique problem and discuss it with you. From there, we’ll customise our approach to your needs. We may need to evaluate your feet, your gait (walking and running), and/or your legs and ankles. We may need to run tests (for fungal infections, for example) or take 3D scans of your feet (to aid with the creation of custom orthotics, for example). Then we’ll work with you to develop a treatment plan specifically for you, detailing what you’ll need to do and if you’ll need to come back and see us again.
Initial consultations are 45 minutes. Follow-up appointments are 20-30 minutes.
Bring any relevant footwear and inserts (such as orthotics and innersoles) you are currently, or have recently been, wearing. If you have been referred to Merivale Podiatry by another health professional, please bring any relevant referral letters and x-rays.

Yes. We have onsite parking accessible from Mansfield Ave. There is street parking available outside the clinic too on Mansfield Ave.
Yes. If you’re unable to come into the clinic, let us know and we’d be happy to come to you if you live within a 3km radius of the clinic.
Yes. If you’re unable to come into the clinic or live remotely, let us know. We’re happy to have a Telehealth Session with you to ensure you get the treatment you need.
Saturday and evening appointments are available on request. We are closed on Sundays.

It depends on where you are. Orders processed here will take 5-7 business days to arrive. Overseas deliveries can take anywhere from 7-16 days. Delivery details will be provided in your confirmation email.
